I recently bought these redesigned Fiskars, hoping they would be a solid backup to my original pair from about 15 years ago, which I still rely on. I had been watching the price for two years and finally decided to get them on sale. However, while trimming some scrub oak branches, the “ergonomic” handle became misaligned after just the fifth cut, forcing me to use both hands to remove the branches. I was frustrated, especially since I had only received them the day before. I considered returning them for a refund but managed to adjust the handle back into place, and now they seem to be working fine and cutting the branches, though I’ll have to be more careful with them compared to my originals.
Most branches I trim are about 1/4″ to 1/2″, and I use Fiskars Loppers for thicker ones. For now, these new ones are just okay; I always reach for my originals first. Also, for those interested, I sharpen my blades by cutting through folded aluminum foil—it really works and has for many years. I also use foil to sharpen my kitchen shears and garden scissors. With over 70 years of experience, I know what I’m doing.

Extremely sharp (handle with care), but offers excellent ergonomics and excels at cutting through tougher branches and stems. Performs wonderfully.

I’ve been wanting a pair of these for ages. They may be expensive, but they’re totally worth it.

What’s new, you might wonder? Are we really going to keep accepting lower quality products at higher prices? Sometimes the cost stays reasonable, but the quality drops significantly, leaving little value. I have a power pruner that I purchased in a set of small, medium, and large pruners about 20 years ago, and it was excellent. The largest ones were power pruners, and they were smooth, comfortable, effective, and have lasted all these years, just like the smaller ones. Unfortunately, the power roll handle finally gave out, and I don’t see a way to fix it, so I decided to try the new models despite the poor reviews explaining why they aren’t the best-selling Fiskars. To give credit where it’s due, the blades are still good, but if they aren’t enjoyable to use, what’s the point? The lock mechanism is quite difficult to operate, as many reviewers have noted, leaving the pruners open. While it’s not a disaster, I wouldn’t want them in my pocket unlocked, so that’s another downside. I’m going to explore different brands until I find one that satisfies me. I would consider Felco pruners, but I tried their smallest model at a friend’s place and found them too heavy for my liking. I’m not as capable as I used to be, but that’s not a manufacturing or design issue.

These shears are incredibly comfortable to use, and their gear system makes the job much easier. It takes significantly less effort to cut branches compared to other shears of the same type. The metal of the cutting blades is high quality and maintains its sharpness. They are perfect for individuals with weak hands or arthritis.
J Clifton –
Fiskars produces excellent tools, and this one is no different. While it may be pricey, the impressive cutting power and comfort you experience make it worth the investment.
Hayley Starling –
I’m really impressed by how well these handle large vines and brush. With my small hands, they’re comfortable and easy to use. This is a replacement for a lost pair, and I’ve been using this model for years.

The envelope I received from Amazon arrived empty at the pickup location. Although it had been scanned in, I was advised to initiate a return. I did, and the replacement was delivered swiftly via USPS. The issue was resolved the same day, and I’m very pleased with the service. I would definitely do business with them again. I also love the product! My hands are on the smaller side, and they fit perfectly, making them suitable for all hand sizes.
Sandy Thies –
Fiskars is my go-to brand for cutting tools, and this pruner is ideal for my smaller hands. It’s very sharp, reasonably priced, and just right for my needs!
Frank Mtz –
I bought it a few months ago, and it works perfectly. The cuts are smooth and precise.

I’ve had these shears for about three weeks now, and I took them to my cousin’s today to pick some lilacs. Wow, they’re amazing! I have tendinitis in my right thumb, which makes it hard for me to twist caps or write much. However, I was able to cut a bouquet of flowers effortlessly, and there was no pain in my hand. They are easy to squeeze and wonderfully sharp. I would definitely buy these again. I read several reviews before purchasing, and many people with arthritis shared how much they loved these shears. That was a key factor for me, and I’m so glad I chose them. I give them a solid 10 out of 10!

I used to struggle with my old trimmer, which required a lot of effort to work at all, and even then, it didn’t provide a clean cut. This new trimmer is fantastic! It’s user-friendly, and I don’t have the strongest hands, so if I can make it work effortlessly, anyone can. It cuts quickly and cleanly, making it easy to trim those pesky branches. The grip is comfortable, and the size is perfect. It feels sturdy and well-constructed, so I believe it will hold up well. My yard looks much better now that I have no reason to procrastinate on this task.
